Can I delete my account?
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You have the right to delete your account and personal data under GDPR (EU data protection law). Just contact us and we'll process your request.
What happens when you delete your account
What we remove:
- Your profile (name, email, phone number)
- Saved delivery addresses
- Saved payment methods
- Order history and tracking information
- Saved favorite products
- Team member access (if business account)
What we must keep (legal requirement):
- Invoices and accounting records (required by tax law for 7-10 years)
- Purchase history for warranty claims (if products are still under warranty)
- Transaction records for fraud prevention and legal compliance
Why we keep some data: EU accounting laws require us to retain financial records for tax audits. But these records are anonymized—we remove your name, email, and contact details.
How to delete your account
Option 1: Request deletion via email
Send us an email with:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your account email address
- Confirmation: "I want to permanently delete my account and personal data"
We'll process your request within 1-2 business days.
Option 2: Request deletion via account settings
1. Log in to your account
2. Go to Account Settings → Privacy & Data
3. Click "Delete My Account"
4. Confirm deletion
Your account will be permanently deleted within 24 hours.
Should I delete or just stop using my account?
Consider NOT deleting if:
- You might order again in the future
- You need access to past invoices for accounting/tax
- You want to keep your order history for warranty claims
- You're a business with recurring workwear needs
Delete if:
- You're certain you won't use Droppe again
- You want to exercise your GDPR right to erasure
- You no longer work for the company associated with the account
- You're consolidating to a different account
Alternative: Just stop using it. You don't have to delete your account—you can simply stop logging in. We won't send you marketing emails if you unsubscribe, and your data is protected under GDPR regardless.
What if I have pending orders or returns?
If you have active orders or returns in progress:
- We recommend waiting until they're complete before deleting your account
- Once deleted, you won't be able to track shipments or access return labels
If you delete anyway:
- Your orders will still be delivered (brands already have your delivery address)
- Returns will still be processed (we keep return records separate from accounts)
- You just won't have online access to track them
Can I reactivate a deleted account?
No. Account deletion is permanent and can't be undone.
If you change your mind later, you'll need to create a new account from scratch. Your old order history, saved addresses, and payment methods won't be recoverable.
What about my subscription or recurring orders?
If you have recurring orders or subscriptions:
- Cancel them BEFORE deleting your account
- Once your account is deleted, recurring orders will stop automatically—but it's cleaner to cancel them first
How to cancel recurring orders:
- Go to Account Settings → Subscriptions or Recurring Orders
- Click "Cancel" on each subscription
- Confirm cancellation
- Then delete your account
What if I'm a business account with team members?
Before deleting a business account:
- Remove all team members first
- Download all invoices and financial records
- Cancel any active subscriptions or recurring orders
- Notify your team that the account will be deleted
What happens to team members:
- They'll lose access to the company account
- They can create their own individual accounts if they need to order workwear
Alternative for businesses: Transfer account ownership to another team member instead of deleting. This preserves your company's order history and invoices.
What data we keep (GDPR compliance)
Under GDPR, we keep:
- Financial records: Invoices, transaction history (tax law requirement: 7-10 years)
- Fraud prevention: Anonymized purchase patterns to detect fraud
- Legal claims: Records relevant to ongoing disputes or warranty claims
What gets anonymized:
Your name, email, phone number, and delivery addresses are replaced with generic identifiers (e.g., "Account #12345"). We retain the transaction amounts and dates for accounting purposes, but remove all personal identifiers.
You can request a copy of what we keep: Email us after deletion and we'll provide a summary of what data is retained and why.
