Can I get a VAT invoice?

Can I get a VAT invoice?

Yes. Every invoice we send is a proper VAT invoice. If you provide a valid EU VAT ID when ordering, your invoice will show 0% VAT under the reverse charge mechanism. If you don't provide a VAT ID, your invoice will show the applicable VAT rate for your country.

Two types of VAT invoices

For EU businesses with valid VAT ID (B2B)

What you get:

  • Invoice shows 0% VAT rate
  • States "Reverse charge" or "Steuerschuldnerschaft des Leistungsempfängers" (German)
  • Includes your VAT ID and ours
  • You self-assess VAT in your own country

Why 0% VAT? Under EU VAT rules, intra-EU business-to-business sales use the "reverse charge mechanism." We don't charge you VAT—you handle it yourself through your own VAT return.

Your responsibility:

  • Declare the purchase in your VAT return
  • Self-assess VAT at your local rate
  • Immediately reclaim it as input VAT (if you're VAT-registered)
  • Net effect: Usually zero additional VAT cost for VAT-registered businesses

Good to know: This only works if your VAT ID is valid. We verify VAT IDs automatically through the EU VIES system. Invalid or missing VAT IDs = we charge local VAT.

For individuals or businesses without VAT ID (B2C)

What you get:

  • Invoice shows applicable VAT rate for your country
  • VAT is included in the price you pay
  • No reverse charge applies

Why you pay VAT: You're not VAT-registered (or didn't provide a VAT ID), so we charge VAT on your behalf and remit it to tax authorities. This is standard for B2C (business-to-consumer) sales.
