Do you have fit feedback from other buyers?

Do you have fit feedback from other buyers?

On some products, yes. You'll see notes like "Runs small—order one size up" or "True to size" on product pages. We're building this out as more customers order and leave reviews. Not every product has feedback yet—it depends on order volume and review rate.

Where to find fit feedback

On product pages

Look for fit notes near the size chart (if available):

  • "Runs small" → Consider sizing up
  • "Runs large / Generous fit" → Consider sizing down
  • "True to size" → Order your usual size in this brand
  • "Narrow fit" / "Wide fit" → Specific to boots and shoes

Not every product has this. If you don't see fit feedback, it means:

  1. Not enough orders yet to generate reliable data
  2. Product is new to our platform
  3. Customers haven't left sizing-specific reviews

In customer reviews

Some customers mention sizing in their reviews:

  • "I'm usually a 42, but needed a 44 in these boots"
  • "Perfect fit, true to size"
  • "Order one size up if you want room for thick socks"

Check reviews for real-world experiences. Even one detailed review can be more helpful than a generic size chart.

Quick tip: Reviews mentioning fit are often from customers who ordered multiple sizes and returned what didn't work. They've done the trial-and-error for you.

How we collect fit feedback

1. Customer reviews

When customers leave reviews, we ask:

  • "How did the sizing fit?"
  • "Would you recommend sizing up or down?"
  • "Were measurements accurate compared to the size chart?"

Not required—just helpful for future buyers.

2. Returns data

We track:

  • Which sizes get returned most often
  • Why customers return (wrong size vs defect vs just didn't like it)
  • Which sizes customers reorder after returning

Example pattern:

  • Many customers order size 42 boots
  • 40% return and reorder size 44
  • → Likely "runs small," we add that note

Privacy note: We use aggregated data only—no individual purchase history is shared.

3. Direct customer feedback

If you contact us about sizing, we record:

  • "This brand runs large in my experience"
  • "Size chart was accurate"
  • "I'm between sizes in this brand"

Over time, patterns emerge. We summarize those patterns as fit feedback.

What fit feedback looks like

"Runs small—order one size up"

What it means:

  • Size chart measurements might be accurate, but fit feels tighter than expected
  • Many customers who order their usual size find it too snug
  • Sizing up gives a more comfortable fit

Example:

  • Chart says size 42 = 26.5-27 cm foot
  • Your foot is 26.7 cm
  • Normally you'd order 42
  • But feedback says "runs small" → order 43 instead

"Runs large" or "Generous fit"

What it means:

  • Product fits bigger than size chart suggests
  • Many customers sized down for a better fit
  • Designed with extra room (often for layering or comfort)

Example:

  • Jacket designed for wearing over thermal layers
  • Size M fits like other brands' size L
  • If you want a closer fit, size down

"True to size"

What it means:

  • Size chart is accurate
  • Fits as expected for that brand's sizing system
  • Order your usual size (after checking the chart)

Why this matters:

If you're between brands, knowing which ones are "true to size" helps you compare.

"Narrow fit" or "Wide fit" (boots/shoes)

What it means:

  • Beyond just length, the width varies
  • Narrow fit: Good for slim feet, might pinch if you have wide feet
  • Wide fit: Roomy, good for wide feet or thick socks

Example:

  • Boot fits length-wise (size 43 matches your foot length)
  • But feels too narrow across the ball of your foot
  • Feedback "narrow fit" would have warned you

"Size down for slim fit" / "Size up for layering"

What it means:

  • Product works at multiple sizes depending on your preference
  • Some customers want close fit (size down)
  • Others want room for layers (size up)

Example:

Work jacket can be worn:

  • Size M: Slim fit, worn over just a shirt
  • Size L: Room for thermal layers underneath

Both valid choices. Fit feedback explains the difference.

Why not all products have feedback

1. New products

If we just added it, there haven't been enough orders yet to spot patterns.

Give it time. As orders come in and reviews pile up, we'll add feedback.

2. Low order volume

Niche products (like specialized PPE) might get 5 orders per month. Not enough data to confidently say "runs small" or "runs large."

We only add feedback when patterns are clear (at least 10-20 data points). Better no feedback than misleading feedback.

3. No clear pattern

Sometimes sizing is all over the place:

  • Half the customers say "runs small"
  • Half say "true to size"
  • No consistent trend

In those cases, we don't add a note. It would confuse more than help.

Instead: We improve the size chart or reach out to the brand for clarification.

4. Customers don't leave reviews

Unfortunately, most customers don't review.

If 100 people order boots:

  • 10 might leave a review
  • 2 might mention sizing

Not a lot to work with. We're encouraging more reviews by sending follow-up emails, but it's slow.

How you can help

1. Leave a review mentioning fit

After you receive your order, leave a review:

  • "Order one size up—runs small"
  • "Perfect fit, true to size"
  • "Generous sizing, could've sized down"

Helps future buyers make better decisions.

2. Contact us if sizing was off

Even if you don't leave a public review, email us:

orders@droppe.com

Tell us:

  • Product name/link
  • Size you ordered
  • Your measurements
  • Whether it fit (too small, too large, just right)

We'll use this to improve fit feedback for that product.

3. Be specific in reviews

Less helpful: "Didn't fit"

More helpful: "I'm 185 cm, 90 kg, usually size L. This jacket was too tight in the shoulders. Order XL if you have broad build."

Details matter. Body type, measurements, and specific fit issues help others.

Questions to ask us if there's no fit feedback

Product has no feedback yet? Contact us before ordering:

Ask:

  • "Do you have any sizing feedback on [product name]?"
  • "How does this brand compare to [another brand I've ordered]?"
  • "I'm usually a 42 in [Brand X]—what size should I order in [Brand Y]?"

We might have informal feedback from customer service interactions even if it's not published yet.

What if feedback conflicts with size chart?

Sometimes fit feedback says "runs small," but the size chart looks accurate.

Why this happens:

  • Chart measurements are technically correct
  • But fabric, design, or cut makes it feel tighter
  • Example: Stiff leather boot measures 27 cm inside, but feels smaller than a flexible fabric shoe of the same length

Trust the feedback in these cases. Real customer experiences beat technical measurements.

Or order both sizes and return what doesn't fit (free returns).
