Can I request a specific brand?

Can I request a specific brand?

Yes—and we want you to. We actively track brand requests and use them to prioritize new partnerships.

How to request a brand

**Fastest way: Drop us a message

Include:

  • Brand name - Which brand you're looking for
  • Why you need it - What products or use case
  • How often you'd order - Helps us prioritize high-demand brands

Example message:

"Hi, I'm looking for [Brand Name] safety boots. My team orders 20-30 pairs quarterly. Can you add them?"

That's it. We log every request and track demand patterns.

What happens after you request

Step 1: We log your request

  • All requests go into our brand recruitment database
  • Tagged by product category, industry, and urgency
  • Multiple requests for same brand = higher priority

Step 2: We evaluate feasibility

Questions we ask:

  • Is this brand European? (Required for us)
  • Do they meet our quality standards?
  • How many customers have requested them?
  • Can they fulfill direct-to-customer orders?

Step 3: We reach out to the brand

  • If feasible, we contact the brand about partnership
  • Share Droppe's value proposition (no upfront costs, marketing support, 250+ existing brands)
  • Explain our vetting process

Step 4: We keep you updated

  • If we sign the brand, we'll email you
  • If we can't sign them, we'll let you know why and suggest alternatives

Good to know: The whole process takes 6-12 weeks on average. Vetting brands thoroughly takes time—we don't rush it.

What makes a request more likely to succeed?

High-demand brands:

  • 5+ customer requests = top priority
  • Popular products (safety boots, high-vis jackets) = faster action
  • Clear business case (regular orders, not one-time)

Brands that fit our model:

  • European manufacturing required
  • EU safety certifications (for PPE)
  • Ability to ship direct (DDP terms)
  • Good reputation for quality

Example:

"We need [Scandinavian Brand X] winter jackets—15 team members ordering 2x/year."

This tells us:

  • Regular demand (not one-time)
  • Specific product need
  • Clear order volume

= High likelihood we'll prioritize outreach.

What if the brand can't join Droppe?

Sometimes we can't sign a brand, even with high demand. Common reasons:

1. Brand doesn't ship direct

  • Some brands only sell through distributors
  • Our model requires direct brand-to-customer fulfillment
  • Alternative: We'll search for authorized distributors on Droppe

2. Non-European manufacturing

  • Brand might be European-owned but manufacture in Asia
  • We only work with European-made products
  • Alternative: We'll suggest similar European brands

3. Brand already partners with competitors

  • Some brands have exclusive agreements with other marketplaces
  • We can't override existing commitments
  • Alternative: We'll suggest comparable brands

4. Doesn't meet quality standards

  • Chronic quality issues in reviews
  • Poor safety certifications
  • High defect or return rates
  • Alternative: We'll explain concerns and suggest higher-quality options

Our philosophy: We'd rather suggest a better alternative than compromise our standards just to say "yes."

Can I request a product, not a brand?

Absolutely. Sometimes you need a specific product but don't care about the brand.

Example:

"I need flame-resistant coveralls rated EN ISO 11612 for oil refinery work."

We'll:

  1. Check if existing brands carry that product
  2. If not, recruit brands specializing in that category
  3. Prioritize based on demand across multiple customers

This works great when:

  • You have specific technical requirements (certifications, ratings)
  • You're open to multiple brand options
  • You care more about specs than brand loyalty

How long does it take?

If brand is already in talks: 2-4 weeks

  • We're already vetting them
  • Your request adds urgency
  • Faster partnership approval

If brand is new contact: 6-12 weeks

  • Initial outreach and interest confirmation
  • Document verification (certifications, business registration)
  • Product samples and quality checks
  • Trial period before full launch

If brand is difficult: 3-6 months

  • Exclusive agreements to negotiate
  • Custom fulfillment setup required
  • Complex certification verification

Quick tip: The more customers requesting the same brand, the faster we prioritize it. Encourage your colleagues to request too!

What if I need the product urgently?

Short-term solution: We'll suggest alternatives from existing brands.

Why: Onboarding a brand properly takes weeks. If you need workwear tomorrow, we'll help you find something comparable that ships today.

Example:

"I need [Brand X] boots by Friday for a project starting Monday."

Our response:

"Brand X isn't on Droppe yet, but [Brand Y] makes nearly identical boots rated the same (EN ISO 20345 S3) and ships in 2 days. Want to try those while we work on adding Brand X?"

Our philosophy: Get you what you need now, while working toward your ideal brand for future orders.

Can I request a brand to be removed?

Yes—if you have concerns about quality or service.

We take feedback seriously. If you've had a bad experience:

  • Quality issues: Defective products, poor construction
  • Service problems: Slow shipping, missing items, unresponsive support
  • Safety concerns: Certification questions, product failures

Report issues directly and we'll investigate. Chronic problems lead to brand reviews and potential removal.
